The project
Commissioned privately and developed in collaboration, the executive project was prepared for participation in the design-and-build competition for the reconstruction of the La Fenice Theatre.
The project was preceded by a detailed direct survey of the entire decorative apparatus, which had been severely damaged by the fire.
All the destroyed decorations were graphically reconstructed based on a meticulous conjectural survey, using available iconographic and photographic documentation as reference.
This survey campaign served as the foundation for the project, which—drawing on in-depth investigations and analyses of materials, technologies, and their deterioration—provided precise, localized guidelines for their restoration.
