The project
The commission was awarded through a public tender by the Municipality of Pordenone.
In accordance with the findings of detailed surveys and investigations on materials, construction techniques, and decay processes—as well as the results of historical research—the intervention focused on the removal of numerous disfiguring accretions from the monumental complex and the restoration of its original spatial layout, allowing for its new function as a venue for cultural and recreational activities.
The project also involved the structural consolidation and upgrading of severely deteriorated elements, the restoration and integration of surface finishes, and the conservative restoration of the decorative features and frescoes located in the cloister and the church.
