Project Description
The existing spatial layout was retained as it continued to adequately meet the client’s requirements; the few interventions consisted of selective demolitions of intrusive additions and restoration of pre-existing partition walls on the ground, first, second, and third floors. More significant interventions were carried out in the basement and attic levels, where spaces were created for archives and offices. The modest characteristics of the finishes were rigorously preserved in the plaster, flooring, fixtures, and staircases. The central flight of the staircases underwent major alteration in the 1950s; restoring the previous condition was deemed inappropriate, so the intervention was limited to basic maintenance with corrections to the most discordant chromatic and material aspects. During the works, interesting decorative elements emerged, including dry paintings, both hand-painted and applied using stencil techniques. Due to limited financial resources, restoration will be confined to three or four rooms.

Design Phase Durations
45 days for preliminary design, 90 days for final design, and 90 days for executive design.
